GOVERNANCE & MEMBERSHIPS about uscontact us- The corporation is governed by a board of directors representing the clan groups of the region, there are nine director positions with three representing each clan.
- Directors are nominated by their clan members to be a director of the corporation at an Annual General Meeting (biannual), only corporation members can vote at the meeting and only corporation members can be directors.
- Currently the directors serve on the board for a two year term and are eligible to be re-elected.
- The board of directors are required to attend meetings every three months to effectively manage corporation business, however, the demand placed on the organisation often requires a board meeting every month.

Membership
Membership of the corporation is open to all native title holders connected to the apical ancestors listed in the Native Title Determinations of NCY#1 & NCY#3.
The native title holders are the same for both Northern Cape York #1 & #3 Native Title Claim Groups, being the persons descended by birth or adoption from the following apical ancestors:

Become a Member
To be a member of this corporation you must be a descendant of an apical ancestor listed in either of the native title determinations and you must be able to demonstrate your connection through your family tree.
A copy of your family tree must be included with your application form so that the Board of Directors can be certain of your connection. Family trees will be stored securely and kept for historical and reference purposes should the need arise.
Once your application is received and checked to ensure it is completed fully, it will then be tabled at the next Board of Directors meeting. Board meetings are usually held once every 3 months.
Once your application is approved you will receive a letter confirming your approval and registration as a member.
Given that our members may reside off community, we encourage our members to provide their email addresses or regularly check our websites to ensure they are up to date with the latest information involving corporation business.

Members will receive notices of annual general meetings for the corporation and copies of the annual report, newsletters and any other relevant information about the corporation.
Please note: that corporation business is separate to native title business. Native title holders do not need to be a member of Ipima Ikaya Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC to be involved in native title decisions.
